Welcome to Northfield Medical Centre

This website is intended to inform both existing patients and those considering registering with us. It tells you about our services, how to access them and some general information about how our practice operates. If you live in our practice area and would like to register with us, please complete one of our registration forms that are available from reception. It is important to note that you will be registering with the practice rather than with an individual GP.

Northfield Medical Centre serves the whole of Blaby as well as some of the surrounding villages. Our team includes six GPs, a nurse practitioner, three senior nurses, two health care assistants as well as our practice manager, assistant practice manager, reception and admin staff.

We offer a full general practice service and run specialist clinics for children and pregnant women, diabetes, asthma, new patient checks, teenage health, minor illness, travel vaccinations, CHD/CVD clinics, smoking cessation, hypertension, cryotherapy as well as minor surgery. The district nursing team, practice therapists and health visitors also have clinics at the practice.
At Northfield Medical Centre, we aim to treat all our patients promptly, courteously and in complete confidence.

Training:
Northfield Medical Centre is a ‘training practice’. This means hospital doctors wanting to enter general practice spend up to 12 months with us in order to gain the experience they need to become family doctors.

As a training practice, your medical records may be used for educational purposes.
Your records may be viewed by the Health Authority auditors for the purposes of managing and planning within the NHS.
